Viscoflu Inhalation Solution is a sterile hypertonic saline medical device used to support the management of respiratory conditions associated with thick and difficult-to-clear mucus. Each single-use ampoule contains N-acetylcysteine 300mg and sodium chloride 150mg. N-acetylcysteine acts directly on mucus by breaking down the bonds that give secretions their thick consistency, while the hypertonic sodium chloride solution draws water towards the airway surface to increase mucus hydration and support easier removal. The solution may be nebulised for inhalation into the bronchial region and may also be used for nasal or ear instillation when advised. It is suitable for conditions involving dense secretions, including bronchitis, sinusitis, bronchiectasis and other respiratory disorders, and should be used according to the enclosed instructions or healthcare professional guidance.
